Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Race Series Concludes with Thrilling Finishes

The Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Race Series, a highly anticipated annual event, recently concluded its third and final installment at Beaver Creek Resort. This year's series, open to children aged 4 to 10, showcased the incredible athleticism and determination of young runners from across the region.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Trail Runners

The Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Race Series has become a beloved tradition, drawing in over 120 young athletes to compete in challenging trail races. The final event, held on October 4th, featured a 1-mile race with a 232-foot climb and a 2-mile course that ascended 414 feet, both starting from the Beaver Creek Ice Rink.

Victorious Performances in the 2-Mile Race

The 2-mile race saw some truly remarkable performances. In the 9-10 boys' category, Logan Parish emerged victorious with an impressive time of 18:06, followed closely by Cormac Smith (18:51) and Mason Paez (18:53). The 9-10 girls' division was equally competitive, with Cristal Chavez (24:02), Hattie Ray (24:43), and Alejandra Castanon (24:46) claiming the top three spots.

Thrilling Finishes in the 1-Mile Race

The 1-mile race was a true showcase of the young runners' endurance and speed. In the boys' 4 and under category, Xavier Stevens-Utley crossed the finish line first with a time of 16:49, followed by Sebastian Tullman (20:12) and Larson Pihl (20:39). The girls' 5-6 division saw Noelle Zoller (14:32), Anna Adams (15:53), and Violet Thomson (15:59) take the top three positions.

Fierce Competition and Camaraderie

The Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Race Series was not just about individual achievements; it was also a celebration of the sport and the camaraderie among the young athletes.
